FBI agents raided the apartment of the Somali-born student accused of carrying out an attack Monday on Ohio State’s campus.

Dozens of agents swarmed the apartment of Abdul Razak Ali Artan at about 7 p.m., Cleveland.com reports. Agents also were investigating a Facebook declaration that may have been written by the Ohio State University student.

The attack, which included a car and a butcher knife, injured 11 people and left the suspect dead.

Cleveland.com wrote:

Agents carried briefcases, large equipment and evidence boxes into the Havenwood Townhome Community complex on Nationwide Boulevard while Franklin County deputies blocked off the street and stood guard outside the building.

It is unknown what the agents found inside. Residents said Franklin County sheriff’s deputies showed up at the home shortly after the attack. Federal agents arrived about 7 p.m. and began searching the apartment. The search was ongoing as of 9:45 p.m.

A neighborhood business owner, Jack Ouham, said Artan visited his store daily. He described Artan as a good kid who loved going to Ohio State and who worked at a nearby Home Depot.

“He loved doing what he was doing,” said Ouham, who owns Home Town Market less than a half-mile from Artan’s apartment. “I’m shocked. He was very respectful. He was the nicest kid in the neighborhood.”

Controversial Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr., who is reportedly being considered to head Homeland Security, supports suspending the constitutional rights of up to 1 million people and sending them to the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay.

Clarke, an outspoken conservative who has downplayed police brutality, advocates treating terrorism suspects from the U.S. as “enemy combatants,” Mother Jones reports, citing his upcoming memoir.

Clarke also supports questioning Americans suspected of terrorism without an attorney and holding them indefinitely.

Last year, his position was even more extreme after calling for the roundup of Americans who sympathize with terrorists and sending them to an offshore prison.

President-elect Donald Trump is considering Marine Gen. John Kelly as head of Homeland Security or secretary of state.

That’s significant because Trump became interested in Kelly after hearing about his hawkish views on the Mexican border, The Washington Times reports.

What caught Trump’s attention was Kelly’s testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee in 2015, when he warned that smuggling routes along the border are vulnerable to terrorists and weapons of mass destruction.

“In my opinion, the relative ease with which human smugglers moved tens of thousands of people to our nation’s doorstep also serves as another warning sign: These smuggling routes are a potential vulnerability to our homeland,” Kelly said at the time.

Kelly is a four-star general who has been endorsed by fellow retired Marine Gen. James Mattis.

An Uber driver from Brooklyn was arrested Monday after authorities said he expressed support for attacking Times Square with a garbage truck.

Mohamed Rafik Naji, 37, is also accused of traveling to Turkey and Yemen last year to join ISIS, the New York Daily News reports.

Naji showed his support of ISIS on Facebook, posting a photo of an ISIS flag, videos of jihadists and a link to an ISIS spokesman encouraging attacks on Western targets.

Naji is accused of telling an informant that he supported a deadly attack in Times Square with a garbage trucking running over pedestrians.

“They (ISIS) want an operation in Times Square,” Naji told the informant on July 19.

“They want an operation in Times Square, reconnaissance groups already put out a scene, the Islamic State already put up scenes of Times Square … I said that was an indication for whoever is smart to know.”

The FBI has issued warnings about possible terrorist attacks around Thanksgiving or the Inauguration.

The bureau, however, said there are no reports of a specific attack, but potential targets may include areas where a lot of people gather, like shopping centers, public events and large venues.

CBS News reports that Washington D.C. and northern Virginia are “target-rich” zones.

The FBI warned that terrorists may use guns, IEDs or drones equipped with explosives.

The NYPD issued a warning last week after the magazine of ISIS called Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade an “excellent target.”

A 20-year-old Ohio man is accused of trying to board a flight to join ISIS.

Aaron Travis Daniel was arrested at the Columbus airport Monday, NBC News reports.

The FBI said the Columbus man admitted he sent money to an ISIS recruiter and planed to travel to Libya “for the purpose of joining” the terrorist group.

“He’s accused of paying money that was intended to go to a foreign terrorist organization — in this case [ISIS],” U.S. Attorney Benjamin C. Glassman said in a brief news conference outside court Monday. “And then further, he was accused of attempting to provide himself as a fighter” for ISIS.

Daniels, who was held without bond, was charged with knowingly providing and attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization.

If convicted, he could be sentenced up to 20 years in prison.

Michael McGarrity recently served as the first director of the FBI’s  Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell, which is tasked with helping save U.S. nationals held hostage abroad.

McGarrity joined the FBI in 1996 and began his career in the New York Field Office, where he investigated violent gangs, Colombian drug trafficking organizations, and international money laundering networks, according to a press release. After Sept. 11, 2001, he transferred to the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force and investigated international terrorism matters.

McGarrity has held leadership positions as the FBI detailee assigned to the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center, as the FBI’s deputy on-scene commander in Afghanistan, as the supervisor of the FBI’s extraterritorial investigation squad in the Washington Field Office, as the director for Counterterrorism on the White House National Security Staff and as the legal attaché in Switzerland, the press release said.

Before joining the FBI, he was an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office.

The FBI conducted an 8-month investigation into a militant group that culminated in the arrest of three men accused of conspiring to kill countless Muslim immigrants in Kansas.

A confidential source was embedded with the militia group and provided vital information to investigators about the group’s plans, WFTV reports.

The three men are accused of planning to bomb a southwestern Kansas apartment complex, where numerous Somali immigrants lived, and stockpiling firearms, explosives and ammunitions to carry out the plot.

“These charges are based on eight months of investigation by the FBI that is alleged to have taken the investigators deep into a hidden culture of hatred and violence,” U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said. “Many Kansans may find it as startling as I do that such things could happen here.”

Charged were Curtis Allen, 49, Gavin Wright, 49, and Patrick Eugene Stein, 47, who were members of the Crusaders.
