TSA Screeners Aren’t Charged on Allegations of Groping ‘Attractive’ Male Passengers

Two Denver airport security screeners who were fired after being accused of fondling attractive male passengers will not be charged, NBC News reports.

The TSA screeners, a man and a woman, were fired in April following a six-month investigation by the TSA, which alerted Denver police to the allegations in March.

But Monday, the Denver district attorney’s office said investigators were unable to prove that one of the screeners was working at the time of the alleged incidents.

The male screener was accused of signaling to the female screener when an attractive man was approaching. The female passenger was then accused of patting down the passenger’s groin by signaling to the machine that the passenger was a woman.

“These alleged acts are egregious and intolerable,” the TSA said in a statement in April. “TSA has removed two officers from the agency.”

Former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges involving hush money payments and lying to federal agents, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The Tribune wrote that Hastert looked “extremely uncomfortable.”

“As the judge left the bench and Hastert’s high-powered attorneys conferred with prosecutors, Hastert, once one of Illinois’ most prominent politicians, remained by himself near the lectern, his shoulders hunched, arms hanging limp at his sides. After a moment, he turned toward the gallery where dozens of reporters and spectators were filing out and pursed his lips.”

When the brief hearing was over, the 73-year-old Republican was silent as he passed throngs of reporters and flashing cameras.

Hastert is accused of paying $3.5 million to keep quiet wrongdoing during his days as a high school teacher and wrestling coach.

Hastert’s bank withdrawals caught the attention of authorities.

Shawn Miguel acknowledged he hit a parked Border Patrol truck with his mom’s pickup truck, narrowly missing an agent.

But the 36-year-old’s attorney was able to convince a jury that his client struck the Border Patrol truck because he was drunk, not because he was trying to assault an agent, the Arizona Republic reports.

Miguel was facing 20 years in prison for assault.

After Miguel struck the agent’s truck, the agent fired his weapon at Miguel, striking him in the face and injuring a passenger.

Miguel and his passenger have filed a civil suit.
