President Trump’s eldest son and another top White House official will no longer be protected by the Secret Service, the New York Times reports.

Saying he wants more privacy, Donald Trump Jr. elected to forgo Secret Service protection.

It’s unclear whether the rest of his family has elected to forgo protection.

Kellyanne Conway, a counselor to the president, also will no longer be protected by the Secret Service, which has been run over budget because of the president and his family’s penchant for traveling and going on vacations.

The Times reports:

Like other members of his family, Mr. Trump’s personal and business travel — often to far-flung Trump properties and projects around the world — has triggered frequent criticism and careful documentation by Democrats and other watchdog groups. Those groups argue that taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for the agency’s highly trained agents to accompany the younger Mr. Trump. The size of the first family had forced the Secret Service to shift agents who would otherwise be working on criminal cases or investigations into protective duty.

The Secret Service does not decide who falls under its protection. In the case of the president’s immediate family, the agency is required by law to provide round-the-clock security unless it is told not to and typically errs on the side of caution.

Ms. Conway’s protection is not covered by statute. The president approved her protection after Ms. Conway received several threats in the administration’s early days. That threat assessment has since changed, the official briefed on the decision said.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Sunday that President Trump “has not even discussed” firing special counsel Robert Mueller for investigating the Republican’s campaign alleged collusion with Russia.

Conway’s comments follow a bipartisan bill designed to prevent the firing of Mueller.

“We are complying and cooperating,” Conway said on ABC’s “This Week.” “Well, hold on, I am not the president’s lawyer here, but I will tell you as his counselor, he is not discussing that.”

Still, Conway blasted Mueller’s 16-person team, saying “many of them are Democratic donors.”

Conway added: “The entire Russia investigation is a hypothetical. The president has called it a fiction, a total fabrication to excuse the colossal and unexpected, unwanted defeat of Hillary Clinton in last year’s election. People just can’t get over that election. It’s corrosive to our body politic.”

The bill to prevent the firing of Mueller without “good cause” was introduced last week by Sens. Them Tills, R-N.C., and Christopher A. Coons, D-Delaware.

Secret Service agents were forced to hold back Kellyanne Conway, a key aide to President Trump, when someone began heckling her.

Conway had flown into Washington Reagan Airport at 6 p.m. Monday, when she was confronted with a heckler, The Daily Caller reports

Conway, who has a habit of embellishing or exaggerating claims against Trump’s foes, was talking out of an airport terminal when the white male began mouthing off.

“Keep trashing America,” the man yelled at Conway, who responded angrily.

Conway fired back: “I like the way you talk shit while I’m walking away.”

Sensing that the argument could escalate, two Secret Service agents “put their arms up and blocked her.”

Saying she has received death threats, President Trump’s adviser Kellyanne Conway is receiving protection from the Secret Service.

The White House counselor and Trump’s final campaign manager said she received a suspicious “white substance” at her home, the New York Post reports.

She blamed it on the media.

“Because of what the press is doing now to me, I have Secret Service protection,” she said. “We have packages delivered to my house with white substances. That is a shame.”

Barack Obama’s closest adviser, Valerie Jarrett, also received Secret Service protection.
