The FBI is investigating allegations that Brad Pitt was verbally and physically abusive with his children on a private jet last week.

The FBI is investigating because the alleged abuse occurred on a flight from France to the U.S.

“The FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued,” FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller told press in a statement late on Thursday night, Business Insider reports.

A TMZ report suggested Pitt was drunk during the flight and that his wife Angelina Jolie and their children were on board.

Jolie has filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The FBI is investigating an Iowa boarding school that is accused of routinely confining troubled teenagers to small concrete “isolation boxes” for up to weeks until they could maintain a specific posture for 24 hours, the Associate Press reports.

Six former students claim they were abused while attending Midwest Academy in Keokuk, Iowa.

According to the allegations, the students were kept in dark, cell-like rooms for days and even weeks.

“You spend your time pounding your head against the wall. You can’t sleep because there is a lot of noise. A lot of girls like to scream in there. You basically look forward to bathroom breaks and those moments when you can get out of your box,” said Emily Beaman, 17, of Wheaton, Illinois.

Beaman said she was kept in isolation for weeks until she cut herself with a bottle cap and implored emergency responders to take her away from the academy.

The investigation began investigating allegations that a staff member sexually assaulted a student. Now the FBI is investigating whether students were tortured by being confined to isolation boxes.

Immigrant Rights Groups: Border Patrol Mistreating Children in Documented Cases of Abuse

Steve Neavling

Border Patrol agents are accused of mistreating children in 116 reported cases of abuse, according to a compliant filed by Customs and Border Protection.

CNN reports that the cases range from sexual abuse to holding young undocumented immigrants in cramped, dirty condition, CNN reports.

The cases span several years.

“Given these longstanding problems, and in light of the rising number of unaccompanied children seeking relief from dangerous conditions in their home countries, the need for broad and lasting agency reforms is clear,” the complaint says.

A CBP spokesman said the agency takes “extraordinary measures” to keep children safe.

“Mistreatment or misconduct is not tolerated,” he added.

The complaint was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and four immigrant-rights groups.

FBI Agent Who Ran Sex Crimes Task Force Accused of Abusing His Authority

An FBI agent who operated a sex crimes task force in Georgia is accused of using his position to get out of at least three drunken driving investigations, CBS in Atlanta reports.

Ken Hillman, who ran the northwest Georgia Crimes Against Children Task Force, abused his authority while being pulled over on suspicions of DUI, according to defense attorney McCracken Poston, who represents some of the child abuse suspects.

Poston showed a dash cam video as evidence.

“Because of his badge and his connections he got out of at least three instances when he should have been investigated for driving under the influence. Maybe more,” Poston told CBS in Atlanta.
