A middle school teacher in Massachusetts was arrested Tuesday for allegedly paying for live-streaming sex shows involving children in the Philippines.

WCVB reports that Scott Peeler, 53, who works for Southbridge Public Schools, faces charges of attempting to entice and coerce a minor to engage in sexual activity and receipt of child pornography.

Prosecutors allege that Peeler used video-streaming services online that depicted children having sex.

Investigators said they also found child pornography on Peeler’s computer.

“The School Department is extremely alarmed by these charges and has taken

immediate steps to ensure the safety of our students. We have placed the employee on administrative leave, ensured that the employee is not currently involved in any summer programming, and have requested a no trespass order through the police department,” Acting Superintendent Sheryl Stanton said in a statement.

Authorities were immediately suspicious when fire broke out inside a black church that the KKK had burned down in South Carolina 20 years ago.

After all, the fire came amid a string of suspicious fires at black churches following the shooting at Charleston’s historic African Methodist Episcopal Church less than a week earlier.

But the Associated Press reports that the FBI does not believe the fire was the work of an arsonist, according to an agent who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The fire broke out Tuesday evening as storms passed over the area, gutting the church.

Two KKK members pleaded guilty to burning the same church in 1995.

Border Patrol is so entrenched in corruption and coverups that it would take nearly 350 criminal investigators to adequately investigate the wrongdoings, according to a sharply critical report by the Homeland Security Department.

The Los Angeles Times reports Border Patrol agents are vulnerable to “systematic corruption” by drug cartels and other criminals and that investigations of internal wrongdoing are “chronically slow.”http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-border-patrol-20150630-story.html#page=1

Agents also are accused of using excessive force.

In fact, Border Patrol agents and customs officers are arrested at a rate that “far exceeds” other law enforcement agencies, according to the 29-page report.

“Until this is reversed, [Customs and Border Protection] remains vulnerable to corruption that threatens its effectiveness and national security,” warns the report, which was requested by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

The report also advises Border Patrol to change its policy on using deadly force.

The White House fence is about to become a lot harder to jump.

After embarrassing security gaps, the Secret Service and the National Park Service are adding sharp metal spikes to the fence, The Associated Press reports.

The spikes are meant to be temporary until a permanent solution is found.

The installation is expected to begin today and will be finished in about six months.

Both federal agencies plan to submit a final design for the fence to prevent would-be intruders from climbing over.

Prison Where 2 Killer Inmates Escaped Is Under Investigation for Alleged Drug Smuggling Ring

The FBI is investigating an alleged drug smuggling ring that operated at the upstate New York prison where two killers escaped, the New York Post reports.

“The FBI is investigating the prison for drug trafficking. Agents are re-interviewing inmates and prison workers who have already been interviewed by state investigators,” a source familiar with the investigation said.

“This is a vote of no confidence by the feds in the state investigation. And it’s likely the state investigators did not ask pertinent questions regarding the drug trafficking that the FBI is currently asking. The information on the possible drug trafficking came up in the initial interviews conducted by state investigators with inmates and staff,” the source said.

The investigation is exploring other reported crimes at the Clinton Correctional Facility.

Convicted killers Richard Matt and David Sweat escaped but both were later captured. Matt was shot and killed Friday, and Sweet was wounded and captured Sunday.

Justice Department Blasts Police for Violating Rights During Ferguson Protests

The Justice Department blasted the police response to the Ferguson protests and riots, saying police violated free-speech rights, antagonized and intimidated crowds with military-style tactics and protected officers from being held accountable, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The police were accused of “vague and arbitrary” orders to force protesters to move, which “violated citizens’ right to assembly and free speech,” according to a DOJ reported to be issued soon.

“Had law enforcement released information on the officer-involved shooting in a timely manner and continued the information flow as it became available, community distrust and media skepticism would most likely have been lessened,” according to the document.

The report also said police sometimes indiscriminately used tear gas.

The DOJ also suggested that police stop using dogs for crowd control because it antagonized and scared protesters.

The full report, which is still being finalized, contains about 45 “findings” with recommendations for improvements.
