The widening special counsel investigation that has so far led to three charges against President Trump’s former campaign aides is now zeroing in on White House special adviser Jared Kushner, who is Trump’s son in law.

Kushner has turned over documents to the special counsel team that is investigating whether Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia to help defeat Hillary Clinton.

According to CNN, the FBI is interested in Kushner’s role in former FBI Director James Comey’s firing.

But sources close to the investigation say Kushner is not yet a target of the investigation.

In June 2016, Kushner attended a meeting at the Trump Tower between top Trump campaign officials and a group of Russians.

A Border Patrol agent has been arrested and charged on drug possession charges in Texas.

The DEA busted Gregory Dylan Sessions, who posted a $20,000 bond and has been released from jail, MySanAntonio.com reports

Sessions, who is assigned to the Carrizo Springs Station, which is about 80 miles north of Laredo, has worked with the agency for six years.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of our mission, and the overwhelming majority of CBP employees perform their duties with honor and distinction, working tirelessly every day to keep our country safe,” read a statement from Customs and Border Protection Spokesman Dennis Smith. “We do not tolerate corruption within our ranks, nor acts which tarnish our agency’s reputation. We fully cooperate with any criminal or administrative investigations of alleged misconduct by any of our personnel, on or off duty.”

Details of the arrest remain murky. It wasn’t immediately clear what drugs were involved.

Six members of the Russian government are accused of hacking into the Democratic National Committee’s computer during the 2016 presidential election.

The Justice Department has collected enough evidence to produce charges next year, two people familiar with the investigation told the Wall Street Journal.

Allegations that President Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia have prompted a very active, widening special counsel investigation that has already netted charges against three Trump aides.

One former aide, George Papadopoulos, is cooperating with authorities after he was accused of setting up a meeting with Russian officials who had “dirt” and thousands of emails on Hillary Clinton

The FBI is investigating a couple of strangers who were caught engaging in a sex act while in their seats on Delta Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Detroit.

WDIV-TV reports a 48-year-old woman was performing oral sex on a 28-year-old man, prompting complainants from passengers.

But charging the pair may be tough.

“It’s going to be very hard to find that this is criminal conduct under the federal code because it’s not a threat to the safety of the airline or other passengers,” said Peter Henning, now a Wayne State University law professor.

“It’s certainly distasteful, but it was not disruptive or interfering with the operation of the plane — and that’s typically what (airline incident) charges involve,” he said. “The embarrassment is probably the biggest punishment they can receive.”

The FBI took over the case from airport police after the plane landed. The pair was taken into custody.

The FBI believes it is closer to determining what motivated Stephen Paddock to spray bullets into a crowd of concert attendees in Las Vegas, killing 58 and injuring hundreds of others.

But investigators said there is “absolutely” no evidence the 64-year-old man is tied to domestic terror or hate groups, the Las Vegas Sun reports

They have a theory but aren’t ready to share it.

“We do know a lot more (about Paddock) than when we started,” Rouse told the Las Vegas Sun Wednesday afternoon. “I feel like we are going in the correct direction to understand why this happened.”

As far s a motive, Rouse indicated, “When we’re done, we’ll have as close to an answer on the why as you’re going to be able to come to without talking with (Paddock).”

The 29-year-old driver who plowed a truck into innocent people on a New York City bike path Tuesday, killing eight and injuring in 12, was a recently radicalized immigrant who plotted the attack about a year ago after getting his inspiration from ISIS videos, according to a criminal complaint filed against him on Wednesday.

Sayfullo Saipov, 29, was charged with an outstanding count of providing material support to a terrorist organization and one count of violence and destruction of a motor vehicle in connection with the deadliest terror attack in New York City since Sept. 11, 2001.

A day after President Trump called for the death penalty against the Uzbek immigrant, Trump on Thursday morning tweeted that he’d “love” to transfer the suspect to Guantanamo, “but statistically that process takes much longer” than the federal system.

He implored the court system to “move fast. DEATH PENALTY.”

The Uzbek immigrant who plowed into people on a bike path in New York City on Tuesday afternoon, killing eight and injuring nearly a dozen others, was inspired by ISIS and planned the attack for weeks, according to the FBI.

The FBI announced Wednesday afternoon that it was seeking information on another Uzbek immigrant who may have helped in the attack. But about an hour later, the FBI said during a press conference that Mukhammadzoir Kadirov, 32, was no longer being sought. It wasn’t immediately clear why investigators are no longer searching for the man, whose image was circulated on wanted posters.

Reuters reported the truck driver,  Sayfullo Saipov, had been in contact with a man who had been investigated by the FBI. It wasn’t immediately clear if that was Kadirov.

Saipov was charged in federal court Wednesday with terrorism-related crimes in connection with the deadliest terror attack in the city since Sept. 11, 2001.

Investigators say Saipov was shot in the abdomen by a police officer, planned the attack for weeks “in the name of ISIS,” and was inspired by the terrorist group’s magazine in which followers were urged to carry out a truck attack and leave behind a note indicated their support for ISIS.

Authorities found handwritten notes left behind by Saipov that suggested ISIS “would endure forever.”

Investigators have interviewed Saipov at the hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Videos viewed by authorities show Saipov driving at a moderate speed until he accelerated into the jogging path.

President Trump used the attack to slam a bipartisan immigration bill that created a visa lottery program that allowed Saipov to enter the U.S.

Lawmakers Disclose Russia’s Vile Social Media Ads to Help Trump

Russia’s aggressive and surreptitious campaign to influence the U.S. presidential election included troves of misleading and often vicious social media ads targeting Muslims, Black Lives Matter and illegal immigrants.

Members of the House Intelligence Committee released thousands of advertisements on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google linked to a Russian group called the Internet Research Agency. The ads, initially turned over by Facebook, reached as many as 126 million users, the Associated Press reports

One ad for an event called, “Support Hillary. Save American Muslims,” included a photo of Donald Trump’s Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. Another called for a burqa ban in American, suggesting the Muslim apparel could be used to hide a terrorist.

Another ad by “Army of Jesus” calls Clinton “Satan” and encourages Americans to elect “a president with godly moral principles.”

Lawmakers slammed the social media companies for failing to act before the election.

“I don’t think you get it. I think the fact that you’re general counsels, you defend your company,” Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said at the hearing about Russia’s use of social media in the 2016 election, Politico reports. “What we’re talking about is the beginning of cyberwarfare.”

Allegations that Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia to sabotage Clinton is at the center of a growing special counsel investigation that has already resulted in charges against three campaign aides and includes ongoing inquiries into whether Trump obstructed justice by firing then-FBI Director James Comey for refusing to back down from an investigation into Trump aides.
