Former Attorney Gen. Eric Holder Says He’s Considering Running for President

By Allan Lengel

Former Attorney Gen. Eric Holder Jr. tells Stephen Colbert that he’s thinking fo running for president in 2020.

“What I’ve said is that I’d make a determination sometime early next year. My focus, really, now, is on 2018, the midterms and trying to make sure that Democrats take back the Senate, take back the House and do well, importantly, at the state level,” Holder said.

Holder said with redistricting scheduled for 2021 and “a real problem with partisan gerrymandering” he wants “to make sure we elect as many people as possible at the governor level, at the state legislature level, that when 2021 comes, we have a fair redistricting process.”

He also defended the controversial FISA warrant in the Russia investigation, saying it was clearly not all based on the infamous Steele dossier.

InfoWars Alex Jones Threatens to Shoot Mueller, Calls Him a Pedophile

By Steve Neavling

InfoWars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones threatened to shoot special counsel Robert Mueller and called him a “monster” who was involved in a child sex ring involving Democrats.

Jones made the threat and outlandish allegations on his nearly three-hour InfoWars broadcast Monday.

After accusing Mueller of violent sex acts with children, the insidious host created a hypothetical “wild west” shootout with Mueller, who is investigating whether President Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia during the presidential election.

“I’m constantly in fear that I’m not being a real man, and I’m not doing what it takes, and I’m not telling the truth. And so, call it whatever you want, I look at that guy, and he’s a sack of crap,” Jones said.

Giuliani: Trump Will Talk to Mueller Collusion But Not Obstruction of Justice

Donald Trump’s attorney Rudolph Giuliani said the president would agree to an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller as long as the questions are limited to whether his campaign colluded with Russia.

Giuliani told Bloomberg News that Trump would not agree to an interview about whether he obstructed justice in the Russia investigation.

Mueller has yet to respond to the proposal.

Giuliani and other lawyers for the president are worried he will commit perjury if Mueller believes witnesses who claim Trump obstructed justice.

Trump insisted he would sit down for an interview with Mueller but has balked since, saying the decision is up to his legal team.

Former FBI Chief Comey Urges Voters to Support Dems, But Avoid ‘Socialist Left’

Former FBI Director James Comey on A?BC’s 20/20.

By Steve Neavling

Former FBI Director James Comey urged Democrats on Sunday to avoid embracing the “socialist left,” just days after he encouraged voters to support Democrats in the fall elections.

Democrats, please, please don’t lose your minds and rush to the socialist left,” Comey tweeted Sunday afternoon. “This president and his Republican Party are counting on you to do exactly that. America’s great middle wants sensible, balanced, ethical leadership.”

On Tuesday, Comey tweeted that people “who believe in this country’s values must vote for Democrats this fall” after congressional Republicans failed to adequately denounce President Trump after praising Russian President Vladimir Putin at a time when the Kremlin is suspected of continuing to meddle in American elections.

Trump fired Comey in May, prompting Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to appoint special counsel Robert Mueller, in part, to determine if the FBI director’s termination amounted to obstruction of justice.

Comey took another jab at Trump Monday evening.

A GoFundMe page created a week ago for the family of Secret Service agent Nole Remagen, who died at age 42 while on a protection detail for the president’s trip to Ireland, has raised more than $300,000 so far.

The page, set up by a co-worker of Remagen, originally set a goal of $150,000. The new goal as of Monday, was $350,000.

As of late Monday morning, the fund had raised more than $339,000.

The co-worker, David Cruea, who created the site, wrote:

During  my time living in the Washington DC area I have worked with Nole multiple times throughout his career and almost daily with his father for numerous years. I have set up and organized this campaign with the hope the funds collected through this platform help to ease the burden that surely is ahead for Nole’s wife, two young children and the entire Remagen family.

All money raised through this campaign has been set up for Nole’s wife to have exclusive and direct access to all funds collected.

This is the only official fundraising site for Nole E. Remagen and his family. All other fund raising platforms or campaigns should be verified prior to contributing.

On Tuesday, FBI agent W. Joseph Astarita, 41, who was part of the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team deployed out of Quantico, Vayears old, will stand trial in U.S. District Court in Portland, Ore., on charges of making false statements and obstruction of justice related to the 2016 fatal shooting of Robert LaVoy Finicum, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Finicum had served as a spokesman for Ammon Bundy, the leader of an armed occupation in 2016 of a national wildlife refuge in Oregon.  He was fatally shot by Oregon state troopers, but federal prosecutors allege that Astarita fired two shots, which hindered the police probe into the incident.

Astarita has denied that he fired the shots and his defense team has insisted the evidence is flimsy at best.

Recently, the federal judge in the case tossed two of the five counts.
