The FBI is beginning to investigate whether New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie threatened to pull the plug on Hurricane Sandy relief money if a city mayor failed to support a billion-dollar development, NBC News reports.

Agents are questioning witnesses and asking them to preserve any records related to the accusations made by Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer.

Zimmer’s chief of staff and communications director were among those interviewed, according to NBC News.

“It’s very clear partisan politics are at play here as Democratic mayors with a political axe to grind come out of the woodwork,” Christie spokesman Colin Reed said in an email last weekend.

Florida Republican Gets Quick Visit From Secret Service After Tweet About Hanging Obama

A Florida Republican discovered a quick way to get a visit from the Secret Service.

The Daily Caller reports that an African American candidate for state assembly tweeted Tuesday that he believes President Obama should be arrested and hanged.

But the candidate, Joshua Black, didn’t stop there.

He posted this on Facebook:

To everyone who was offended that I said that the POTUS should be hanged for treason, this is the man who droned Al-Awaki on “suspicion of terrorism”–not proof–and later killed his 15-year-old son for nothing more than being his son.

This is also the man who sought to have Bradley Manning and Eric Snowden executed for treason when they didn’t kill anyone, nor does the US government pretend to believe that they cost any spies their lives.

This would be exactly what the President has done to others, and, as Jesus said, “the measure ye mete, it shall be meted to you again.” I make no apologies for saying that the President is not above the People. If ordinary Americans should be executed for treason, so should he.

So, don’t stop at impeachment. Remove him. Try him before a jury (the very right that he arbitrarily denied to al-Awaki and his 15-year-old son), and, upon his sure convictions, execute him. Thus has he done, thus it should be done to him.

Although Black later insisted he was “not threatening the president,” the Secret Service gave him a house visit, the Daily Caller wrote.

An Ohio man was interrogated for an hour after he was spotted wearing Goggle Glass at a movie theater.

The Business Insider reports that the glasses caused alarm at the AMC theater, where employees believed he was illegally taping the film.

The man, who has not been identified, tried telling authorities that the device was turned off and that the glasses were prescription. But authorities didn’t believe him and eventually sorted through the contents of the device.

“While we’re huge fans of technology and innovation, wearing a device that has the capability to record video is not appropriate at the movie theatre,” AMC wrote in a statement.

Texas is ground zero for Border Patrol arrests, the Associated Press reports.

Of the 420,789 apprehensions during the Border Patrol’s fiscal year that ended in September, 235,567 of the arrests were made in Texas.

Arizona, which often is the busiest border, saw 125,942 arrests.

Border Patrol Chief Michael Fisher said the increase in Texas arrests is largely due to an influx of immigrants from Central America.
