‘Plain Jane Bandit’ Suspect Caught in California After 8 Burglary Attempts

She was brazen and elusive.
But now the woman that authorities call the “Plain Jane Bandit” is behind bars for allegedly robbing six banks and trying to rob two others, the New York Daily News reports.
Spotted by people who saw her on surveillance tapes, Sylvia Helen Garcia, 38, was arrested near her apartment in Downey, Calif., by FBI officials.
During a three-week period, the suspect is accused of targeting eight banks in Riverside, Los Angeles and Orange counties.
The robberies were similar. The suspect demanded money without a weapon and told tellers that a conspirator was waiting outside, according to the Daily News.
